I'm so proud of my 4th grade students! Today they spent some time in small groups discussing some of the poetry they have been reading for the last week or so. Great conversations were taking place. They did an excellent job of sharing their thoughts with one another.
3rd grade TAG Language Arts students had a great time sharing the books they have been reading. Watch this quick video to see some of the exciting and creative ideas.
Caraway's first Science Night is Thursday, October 15! If you would like to get involved, there are many volunteer opportunities still available. Please see the link below to help make this night a great success!
Science Night Volunteer Sign-Up After a brief explanation of the the independent study options, and some brainstorming of ideas, both the 3rd and 4th grade TAG classes voted which project they would prefer. The winning projects are as follows:
3rd Grade - Pet Parade 4th Grade - Backyard Getaway More details will follow! The 3rd Grade Language Arts TAG students have been learning about idioms. They demonstrated the meanings of some common idioms by making these fun posters.
The first week of TAG 4th grade math was so much fun! The 4th graders practiced using 21st century skills of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication through an activity called the Great Marshmallow Challenge. Each team had 15 minutes to try and build the largest structure that would hold a single marshmallow using only spaghetti, tape, and string.
Welcome back! I hope your first week of school was a success. I am so happy to start back with both familiar faces and some new ones too. Please take a few minutes to fill out the information form below so that I may have the most up to date information. It's going to be a super year!
